9th May 2009 - You've all seen the pictures of The Queen Mother pulling a pint haven't you? You have? Good. That was in THIS PUB, and there are a few pictures on the wall to remind you of this. A fine old pub on an old Victorian square. If it was in Mayfair it would be full of hooray Henry's chugging champagne, but as it is it's honest to its history and is a welcoming pub for locals and visitors alike. Quiet on a Saturday afternoon but I imagine it to be the hub of a lively local community in the evenings. Allegedly, the pub that the Queen Vic in Eastenders is based on.
