15th Apr 2012 - This is a gem, a real escape from the bustling roads nearby. The pub is small, quirky and sells good beer. Drinking outside is good but generally dominated by smokers, although it didn't me off enjoying some April sunshine.
The beer is good and the prices sensible - it's a proper pub.

14th Feb 2008 - Great proper olde worlde boozer. Masses of wood pannelling, leaded windows, uncomfortable chairs! (but in a good way). Great room upstairs you can go and play darts in or just have a few drinks. Probably best to avoid on a Friday evening when it's completely rammed. Great cheap toasties and pork pies too!

13th Feb 2008 - Lovely pub in an old-school-how-a-pub-should-be stylee. Friendly bar staff, very tasty ales, comfy atmosphere, traditional & basic food (toasties, pickled eggs etc.).. very fine indeed.

20th Jul 2007 - Highly rated traditional pub hidden away on the edge of Clerkenwell, Ye Olde Mitre is suffering slightly at the moment due to building work adjacent, making things feel a little bit claustrophobic outside for the smokers. Inside is nice as always with snugs and a plethora of cozy rooms. Food doesn't pretend to be anything special, and revolves around pickles and toast, and is priced accordingly. The sense of history is strong here being one of the older pubs still standing in town. Recommended.

16th Dec 2004 - Excellent pub hidden away off Hatton Garden. It's been here since 1546 and there is a cherry tree, well a bit of wood in a glass box, in the corner of the front bar that Queen Elizabeth once danced around. Well, so local legend has it. Gets packed out at lunch and early evening, but tends to empty out a little later on so hang around and grab yourself the little booth thats in the back bar. There's a dart board upstairs, and food is limited to scotch eggs and toasted sandwiches. Well worth the effort if you can find it.
