30th Jul 2012 - This is a fairly traditional boozer with slightly lighter than oak wood appearance. The longish not very wide room show sport on a few screens crams in a fair few people who all seem happy. On this visit we did manage to get accosted by the drunkest guy in britain whose breath nearly knocked me unconscious. We quickly shuffled to the opposite end of the pub and then watched the efficient and friendly staff evict the muppet. He was the kind of drinker that gives pubs a bad name so I hope he gets banned. Anyway everyone else was fine and we shared a table with some strangers and managed not to ruin there evening with our heated debate over wether murray serves faster than henman or not. We did all agree henman was a much bigger tw@t. Anyway a worthwhile stop near a station and i expect i'll be back despite the average beer selection.

4th Apr 2012 - Decent pub, service a bit hit and miss. Good location. Get the feeling that it's a bit more for passing trade than for regulars. Guinness is fine, not wonderful. Prices are not bad for the area.

4th Aug 2008 - One of the nicer pubs on Upper Street. Cosy feel - wooden panelling, very friendly bar staff. Annoying quiz machine that's unbeatable though! Has live jazz on Sundays apparently but no evidence of this when I visited.

5th Aug 2007 - Busy, but not overbusy, central Islington trad pub. Good guiness, mixed crowd, not too bingey/teeny as some islington pubs can be. Nice for a drink or too, lots of big tables that can be shared. Good for a pint before heading to the cinema next door.

31st Aug 2005 - A busy, popular pub in the centre of Angel, which has a mix of clientele. They serve the usual pub food, including pizzas and have TVs for sport. Limited outside seating. Woody interior with 50s diner fans. Nice bar staff. It tries to be lively but is a bit cramped, but is still a decent enough place on Upper Street.
