14th Apr 2012 - Gorgeous pub hidden in what remains of the higgeldy piggeldy old alleyways of the City. On the site of London's first ever coffee house (1650s) the current building was constructed in the 19th Century and is now leased by Shepherd Neame. The best thing about this pub is standing outside in the alley, with a church looming overhead, a small bit of church garden and alleys and archways leading off to mysterious places.

Inside you'll find the local workforce - braying suits - heavilly male dominated and all a bit 'alpha'. It's not a pub that suits being busy, but they do have plenty of staff on and service is remarkably fast.

16th Jan 2006 - Interesting pub that has a tardis element to it - the rooms seem endless but that could have been something to do with all-day drinking. Quite city-ish locals but still had a nice feel to it. Definitely worth a look
