4th Dec 2012 - This is a short walk from Fleet Street and is always fairly relaxed when I visit. Always on a Saturday. The beer selection is ok and I had the usually good Darkstar Hophead. This was the worst it had tasted but that wasn't the beers fault it was mostly down to the fact the glass it was served in coming straight from the dishwasher and being baking hot. Maybe it was a new thing they were trying, mulled beer. It wasn't good however the service has always been friendly and the food when I tried it was good. The wall are laden with old fashioned movie posters and the rooms at either end of the bar are at capacity with every seat taken. The bar was 2 deep with people standing around not really knowing what to do. Only 4 or 5 of them were trying to get served but there was nowhere else to go. Somehow it all stayed calm and everyone seemed happy. Usually the bar crowds stand outside on he street with the smokers but due to the current downpour there was only a few black toothed desperadoes stood in the rain puffing away. The best thing about the pub is the stairs to the toilet. They actually move while your stood on them which makes it feel like a crazy fairground ride. The only difference being people may actually wet themselves as they stumble dangerously up. Great Pub

2nd Aug 2007 - Attractive and well-kept little boozer servicing the local legal profession. Food looks very good (as it should, the landlady has written a book on pub cuisine) but is priced accordingly. Infact the pub on the whole is on the expensive side. Nevertheless The Seven Stars is probably the best pub in the area and absolutely worth a visit.

1st Aug 2007 - Fantastic tiny old pub pretty much smack bang opposite the tradesmans entrance of the Royal Courts of Justice. Full of legal types (obviously). Very arty pub, with pictures of old West End productions adorning the wall, very likely down the gorgeously named landlady, Roxy Beaujolais. She has a book out full of pub recipes which is for sale here, along with various cat related items. In fact the whole place has some sort of cat fixation going on. Food is a cut above your normal fayre, and also a cut above your normal pub lunch in cost terms too. Cleary aimed at the 6 figure salaried legal types, but don't let that put you off.
