28th May 2013 - I'm gonna start by saying this is my new favourite pub despite its slightly hairdresser style awning. This is filled with old memorabilia and the antiques road show would probably have a field day here. From old cigarette machines to fruit machines and toy planes everything was just awesome. I may be forced to use the word awesome again at some point The first thing I noticed was the bar as it was the height of my thighs and just had normal stools at it. I thought this was awesome although it was weird looking down at the friendly bar staff as the floor the other side of the bar was a couple of steps lower. It had a cosy downstairs and rules regarding the use of phones. Its not allowed which I thought was awesome. Due to a lack of available tables we were happily stood in the corner when somehow the barlady magiced a table out of the ether for us so we could sit down which I though was errr awesome service. As I took my coat of I was rapidly informed I couldnt leave my coat on a chair and that I had to hang it up at one of the many hooks. Rules is rules. Rock n roll 50's 60's music was playing which I also considered to be awesome. I clearly wasn't the only one thinking everything was awesome as it was very busy upstairs and downstairs and i'm not sure I've been in a more relaxed pub. Then as we are getting into drink 2 we are brought a copy of the pubs own book with some cool history and pictures particularly of the dude called Kevin Moran who bought the place. If i'm not mistaken he or someone who looked very much like him was in the pub and I suspect hes a regular and you can tell from the pub its a labour of love not a business as he was drinking not working. Best pub in London in my humble opinion. Not because of beer selection or trendyness but because it had real soul. What a great pub. Now all I need is a few trillion in the bank so I can move into the neighbourhood.

14th Nov 2011 - It's nearly 4 years since this was last reviewed and I don't feel I need to add a thing. The location is tranquil, the layout of the pub wonderfully quirky and the decor will keep you interested for hours.
The landlord knows the meaning of a session beer and was thoroughly welcoming. I will be returning.

13th Feb 2008 - Magnificent place to while away numerous hours drinking some of the finest Guinness available, surrounded by all sorts of shambolic bric-a-brac. Highly recommended.

5th Aug 2007 - Genuine old pub with character. Great guiness from an oldstyle labelled pump (you'll remember it when you see it). Friendly Irish staff. In a nice mews where you can easily stand outside, but the inside - with rickety stairs, ancient (relatively) memorabilia and random height changes and column placement - is the main attraction. Mind you, you pay for the privilege with a 15 percent surcharge on the prevailing guiness price.

3rd Aug 2007 - A stormer of a pub. Small and independently owned, good beer, good service and simple pub grub. This one is well tucked away and most definitely worth the effort to find it. No electronics in here, just simple old fashioned ways. Mobiles are banned and the policy strictly enforced. Excellent for hiding from the boss.
