19th Jul 2012 - I visited on Bastille day which apparently is a great time to stick a sandpit in the road just outside the pub and throw metal balls into it. As a new visitor to the pub I have no idea how busy it usually is at 3 in the afternoon but today it was packed. Not everyone was playing petanque amazingly. Most were queuing at the bar or chatting at tables. This is not a big pub but it had plenty of character and plenty of good beers on offer. I had something labeled belgian pilsner on tap with no branding of any sort. The bottle beer section was a belgian american mix, they had good ales on offer and according to some posh git at the bar next to me they do good wine. The decor was modern and trendy and i actually liked it. The atmosphere was great and I will be back to try the food.

31st Jul 2008 - A gastro done well; or a good pub with gastro pretentions, you decide! Young locals, guest beers, a pleasant if small interior and seating outside on a perfectly quiet road. You could do much, much worse than the Charles Lamb. Well recommended.
