17th Jul 2012 - Actually had to use a map to find it but eventually I did and was pleased i did. What a great pub as many many reviews have said before. This is an establishment that clear doesn't give a toss and is strewn with crap and looks unloved. Somehow it does it in a good way. Its friendly and had about ten people sat round the bar. In fact I was the only person not at the bar as I supped my Aylesbury Not Euro Fizz Pilsner. Such a catchy name for a beer I just had to try it. There were plenty of others on offer and everyone seemed to be drinking ale. Everyone was chatting and having fun and the atmosphere was great at 2 on a rather crappy saturday afternoon (just crappy weather wise). I suspect after my next visit it will have to enter my top ten pubs. Great pub and if you have not been go now you cretin.

2nd Jul 2008 - Popular with the beardy CAMRA drinking types, this pub is all about the ale. There are numerous guest ales on tap and if you tried them all you'd do well to be able to walk out afterwards. It's been a while since it saw a paintbrush and the carpet and toilets are a real let down. However, once you get over the smell of the carpet it's an honest, down to earth locals pub with lots of character. Perhaps the last resting place for all those dispositioned by the Hoxton trendification, it's the kind of place you wish was over the road from your house.
